Listen to Cayetana’s Augusta Koch cover Strand of Oaks’ “Goshen ’97”
Late last night, Augusta Koch of Philly punk power trio Cayetana sent out a tongue-in-cheek tweet: “Enjoy this shitty garage band cover of @Strandofoaks” followed by a Soundcloud link.
The home recording of “Goshen ’97” contained within was, most decidedly, not shitty.
This recording evidently came as a surprise to Tim Showalter of Oaks, who excitedly shared her cover this morning on his Twitter.
Woah! Amazing morning surprise. You gotta come up and jam with us sometime. Mutual love back to @CayetanaPhilly – killer band https://t.co/1gLKLwpUIf

I for one am totally in support of a Cayetana and Oaks jam happening in Mt. Airy.
In the meantime, both artists appear next month at the Philly Music Festival at World Cafe Live. Cayetana headlines the first night, Friday the 22nd of September, and Strand of Oaks headlines the second night, Saturday the 23rd.
The festival folks were pretty pumped about the cover as well.
We @PHLMusicFest love self-deprecation, but c'mon @gustawindd – this is Gold. @Strandofoaks: you agree? @Strandofoaks cover of "Bus Ticket"?

I for one am totally in support of a Strand of Oaks cover of “Bus Ticket.”
Tickets and more information on the festival can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. Below, watch Strand of Oaks blaze through an 11-minute performance of “On the Hill” from this year’s Hard Love at the XPoNential Music Festival.
