Radiator Hospital’s got “Nothing Nice” to say in new, slow-mo video trip
Ahead of Radiator Hospital‘s very-much-anticipated album, Play The Songs You Like, we’ve jammed to two singles before the October 20th release. Now joining the ranks of “Dance Party” and “Pastoral Radio Hit” is the song / video for “Nothing Nice.”
Filmed by Nathan Stephens-Griffin — or “the legendary vegan anarchist philosopher/drummer/filmmaker” as Sam Cook-Parrott likes to call him, as seen in a recent Facebook post — the video follows minimalist cues in storyline, as Cook-Parrot and Cynthia Schemmer just kind of hang out in a living room.
What is vacant in narrative is made up for in visual effects, though, as colors jump from black-and-white to vibrant saturation through slow-mo trippy slackerness. Also, the cut to a prolonged close-up at 0:08 is a chuckle-worthy gem.
Float along to melancholy splendor in “Nothing Nice” below. Then, don’t miss Radiator Hospital’s record release shindig at First Unitarian Church on October 20th with support from Outer Spaces, Strawberry Runners, and Eight. Then, get your behind right back to The Church on December 8th when the four-piece joins Cende in support of Vagabon. Get your tickets to both over at the XPN Concert Calendar.
