Get spooky with Upholstery on Friday the 13th for their 10-year Anniversary Extravaganza
Friday the 13th is about to get a big dose of spooky off-kilter oddity, courtesy of longstanding local experimental rockers, Upholstery. The puppet-speckled crew will take over Johnny Brenda’s on this hallowed, eerie day to celebrate their band’s self-described “sordid and salacious past.”
Featuring members of Hardwork Movement, West Philadelphia Orchestra, and Archer Spade, along with performers and puppeteers from the Philly theater community, JB’s stage will be packed with over twenty members throughout the band’s 2007 inception.
Hosted by drag king Señor Papos, with opening support from On the Water and S.T.A.R.W.O.O.D, it’s going to be quite a time. Plus, costumes are very much so encouraged, so get those bad boys ready.
Stay tuned for an upcoming Bandcamp release titled A Decade of Decadence, which will feature twenty handpicked Upholstery jams, ranging from studio albums, to live performances and theatrical works. All proceeds from Bandcamp downloads will benefit Musicopia, which aids in bringing opportunities in music to children.
