HOUND packs two new tracks with a punky urgency and devilish heaviness
Philly hard rockers HOUND are gearing up for a release of their new album BORN UNDER 76, and with the weather at last conjuring its charged, ominous atmosphere of spookiness, there’s no better time for some new HOUND tracks; the entire record is streaming now over at Allmusic, but we’d like to highlight its two new singles to jam to.
Track “Suitable for Framing” is a blend of classic and modern hard rock as it opens with an loaded instrumental akin to Black Sabbath, until transporting to a more contemporary chorus infused with the infectious urgency of the Foo Fighters.
With a dangerous swarm of power chords and warped vocals, “Welcome to the Land of Bad Magic” is a slower, heavier drag that chugs along on with a devilish spirit. That is, until the punk-infused jam of an ending, where all hell breaks loose in a storm of searing guitar and clashing drums.
BORN UNDER 76 releases on October 20th via Let’s Pretend Records; you can grab a preorder here. Then, catch HOUND’s record release show at Space 1026 on the same day, with support from Dialer, with more info on the gig over at the XPN Concert Calendar.
