The Philadelphia Jazz Project‘s free concert series Mysterious Traveler is back for the fall at the Free Library of Philadelphia, pairing veteran and up-and-coming artists from the jazz community to bridge the future and heritage of the scene.

Next Monday, October 30th, drummer and composer Chad Taylor is poised to perform. Over the course of his career, the Chicago artist has collaborated with Pharoah Sanders, Kurt Rosenwinkle, Matana Roberts, Roscoe Mitchell, and more.

The next two installments of the Mysterious Traveler project are drummer and composer Ben Singer on November 20th — the Temple alum is performing his score to Dostoyevsky’s novel Crime and Punishment — and North Carolina saxophone player Larry Price on December 18th, who will play music based on the work of Philadelphia printmaker Dox Thrash.
