Purling Hiss floats down a trippy lazy river in “My Dreams”
Philly power trio Purling Hiss is back with a new track as introduction to their upcoming EP, “Breeze.” As both the title of the EP and the title of the single “My Dreams,” suggest, this new song floats out of their brash garage rock into a chiller, psychedelic soundscape.
Less fuzzy and hardwired than last year’s release, High Bias, “My Dreams” is more purl than hiss as the track is laid-back and dare I say breezy, as it rests on bright and campy acoustic strums of early 70’s goodness. Infused with an eclectic soft energy, the track gets experimental with oscillating fades of warped trippy-ness, while being cemented together with grunge-y deadpan vocals for a perfect mildly strange and catchy little tune.
Listen to “My Dreams” below. Then, catch Purling Hiss at Kung Fu Necktie on January 12th. Tickets and more info on the 21+ show can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
