Not even a year after their Vices EP, Ready Now is back with a shiny new release — and a new name, too. The band, formerly known as Snakeboy, may have changed their handle, but their new EP, Love and Other Dumb Stuff, brings us more of the infectious pop tunes they’ve perfected over the last year.

Ready Now first turned up (as Snakeboy) as an Items Tagged Philadelphia find last year. Now, they’ve returned with the kind of recording that won’t keep them hidden in the depths of Bandcamp for long. Love and Other Dumb Stuff‘s five tracks — a combination of new tunes and revamped older ones — are instantly catchy, in the kind of upbeat, accessibly poppy way that makes you inexplicably able to sing along upon first listen. It’s a fitting reflection of the new identity the band has settled into — no more ever-changing lineup, no more name confusion: Ready Now is absolutely ready for you to hear them, now.

Listen to Love and Other Dumb Stuff below. Ready Now’s next Philly appearance is at the 40th annual Pilam BBQ on Saturday, April 7 — find more information here. They also play a show in West Chester on April 13.
