Listen to Meek Mill talk about justice reform and the importance of voting in a phone interview with CNN’s Don Lemon
This past Monday night, Philly rapper Meek Mill called in for an interview on “CNN Tonight” to speak with Don Lemon, who also recently visited Meek in prison. In the interview, the two discussed Meek’s ongoing legal battle, Judge Genece Brinkley, and the status of Meek’s hearing in relation to the credibility of arresting officer Reginald Graham, who is the sole witness in Meek’s original 2008 gun and drug case.
Meek Mill is currently serving time after Judge Genece Brinkley sentenced Meek to two to four years in prison for probation violation back in November 2017. This past Monday, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner came out in favor of granting Meek a retrial.
In the closing remarks of the interview, Meek imparts knowledge on something everyone can be doing to champion reform. “The most important thing I want to say is vote. When it comes time to vote for governor… for judges, DA’s, vote. Let’s vote for people that’s into justice reform and helping the urban community,” explains Meek.
The interview between Meek Mill and Don Lemon starts at the 2:55 minute mark below.
