Atlanta punks worlds greatest dad may spend most of their time way down the East Coast, but whenever they do make their way up north, they seem to fit right in with the Philly indie scene. The band is gearing up to release its debut LP get well soon on May 11, and is heading on a tour that will bring them back our way later this month.

The band has already shared a few singles from the new record — “laughing (while you’re smiling)” and “a song for mogis.” Now we can hear a third, “cough,” and the video that goes along with it is just as delightful as the song. As worlds greatest dad told BrooklynVegan, the band “went around Atlanta with a photobooth, taking pictures of strangers and asking them what they want the world to know,” and combined everyone’s answers, which range from the lighthearted and “tater tots are garbage” to the optimistic “dreams are easy to achieve.” The visuals are a fitting match the tone of the song, which expresses restlessness and exhaustion with an edge of hopefulness. Worlds greatest dad will play Lizard Lounge 215, a new West Philly venue, on May 29 with local Philly acts No Thank You, Cherry and so totally. Find more information on the XPN Concert Calendar.
