Listen as Petunia tries to run from a really "Bad Date" - WXPN | Vinyl At Heart

Philly rock four-piece Petunia have dropped a brand new track, “Bad Date,” the latest follow up to last year’s EP Dailies. The song is teeming with urgency, propelled by a jittery bass and pinball synths. The lyrics barely mask strung out nerves and pent-up frustration, vocalist John Ryan breaking into a wordless howl.

Despite the pessimistic tone of a song, in a statement the band remained hopeful.

It’s hard to put yourself out there. Confidence isn’t everyone’s strong suit… In the end, you’re face to face with another human and the whole outside world can disappear around you. It’s nerve-wracking as f*** but we do it anyway because we might meet someone cool or learn something about ourselves. There just might be some bad dates along the way.

Petunia plays a gig at Tralfamadore in South Philly on December 5th. Find more info here. Listen to the single below.
