Follow soul singer Bridget Ramsey on a Philly dream date in new “Save Your Love For Me” video
Soul music is all about connection and devotion; in Bridget Ramsey‘s new music video for “Save Your Love For Me,” those forces converge as we see the rising Philly soul singer and her significant other embarking on what might be the ideal musical date around the city.
Poet Ursula Rucker begins the proceedings with a spoken word introduction as we hear some top notch playing from the band — jazz scene heads like Guthrie Ramsey on keys, Ken Pendergast on bass, Tony Smith on trumpet, Lucky Thompson on drums, Jerry Thompson on organ, and Richard Tucker on guitar. Meanwhile, we see Ramsey and her costar shopping for records at Brewerytown Beats, picking out a new acoustic guitar at DiPinto, checking out vintage clothes and decor at Jinxed, and wandering around the Smith Memorial Arch in Fairmount Park west.
Eventually, a text message from her dad beckons her to the studio, where Ramsey vibes along with the classic R&B and jazz tones of the players tackling a song popularized by the recently departed Nancy Wilson; as we watch, the live music and romance intermingle before our eyes.
