Neil Young announces a new album with Crazy Horse, Colorado, out this fall
Neil Young has announced a new album with his band Crazy Horse. Colorado will be released on October 25, and it’s first single “Milky Way” — which Young has played live before, both solo and with Promise of the Real — is out now. This will be Young’s first album in seven years with Crazy Horse, whose current members include Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina, and Nils Lofgren.
Instead of touring, Young’s focus lately has been on several archival film projects. The making of Colorado was filmed for the upcoming documentary Mountaintop Sessions, which will be shown in over 100 theaters this October. On his Archives website, Young writes, “It’s a wild one folks. You will see the whole process just as it went down! Worts and all! I don’t think a film about this subject with the openness and intensity we have captured has ever been seen.” He’ll return to the road in 2020 to tour behind the new album.
