Elements of country music and Neil Young come through the new EP by Queen Jesus, titled Glass Hat. A passion project for local Philly drummer Pat Brier, the music of Queen Jesus is soaked in otherworldy sounds and haunting moods. Tracks like “Fruitman” resonate with a kind of psychedelic ambience, while “Duster” is a soft mix of Americana and folk. Somehow with the wide range of styles, Queen Jesus still manages to do a great job pulling it all together to form this cohesive eight track EP.

Queen Jesus released this EP in dedication to the band’s dear friend Spenser Spirit Hogans, who passed away this summer, honoring him with their wide range of eloquently recorded sounds. Read more about Hogans and the legacy he left behind here.
