As you head into Memorial Day weekend we’ve got a handful of new albums to add to your listening adventures. We’ll start with some familiar voices as both Indigo Girls and Steve Earle have new albums to share. Both offer their usual dose of comfort and well-crafted songs. Alt-rockers Airborne Toxic Event release the most intriguing album of their career in Hollywood Park. Best known for their hit “Sometime Around Midnight”, ATE front-person Mikel Jollett is absolute in revealing the events of his life. This comes in musical form with the album, but also in a new memoir under the same name. It’s worth a listen and a read. Also, if you expected a melancholy collection of songs from Badly Drawn Boy’s new album, you’d be wrong. Banana Skin Shoes is upbeat, funky and offers a much needed slice of optimism. Lastly, NY indie-rockers Woods once again showcase their versatility and infectious songwriting on Strange to Explain. #PressPlay and enjoy!
