Dan Drago of the 25 O’Clock Podcast is one of those Philadelphia music folks we find ourselves remarkably in sync with here at The Key.

From his broad-reaching taste to the indepth conversations he leads, taking us below the surface of any band appearing on show, his podcast is something we always look forward to as a means of discovering new Philly artists and learning more about the ones we already know.

This week on the WXPN Local Show, Drago joined me for an hour-long guest DJ set and chat about who he is and what he does. He talked about his roots in the rust belt music communities of upstate New York, and contrasts the Rochester scene he grew up in with the Philadelphia scene he’s called home for the past decade and a half. We hear how he segued from music fan to a performing musician to a host of a podcast celebrating musicians, and we hear a fantastic assortment of his Philly faves along the way.

Listen to the show below, and head over to Dan’s website for a clickable playlist that links out to each artist’s pages for more on them. Matter of fact, save that link for next Friday, June 5th, when Bandcamp is once again waiving its feels to help support artists impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic and industry shutdown.
