Although the Beastie Boys are generally remembered for helping launch hip-hop in the ’80s and expanding its scope in the 90s, their punk rock records and singles have maintained an equally influential legacy.

In preparation for the release of their latest greatest hits album (out October 23rd via UME), the group has released their 1995 EP, Aglio e Olio, to streaming services. Aglio e Olio is almost entirely comprised of hardcore punk songs which were cut from early recording sessions of their 1998 release, Hello Nasty.

In addition to the upcoming greatest hits album, the Beastie Boys have released a book (aptly titled Beastie Boys Book) and a movie (similar: Beastie Boys Story) in recent years. Beastie Boys Story has been nominated for five Emmy Awards for the upcoming 2020 Television Academy award show.
