Jasmine Cassell floats to the emotional, direct new single “Things Change”
Jasmine Cassell first premiered “Things Change” in December 2019, performing the track live for the Key Studio Sessions. Now, almost a year later, the New Jersey artist has finally released the official version on streaming services.
“Things Change” is a floaty RnB track, led by pattering handclaps and woozy synth lines. The spacious sonic environment provides the perfect amount of room for Cassell’s hook, direct and to the point: “Things change / things change.”
This past summer, Cassell was also featured on Astro Nautico’s Atlantics X project, a mutual aid campaign that aimed to raise money for BIPOC artists affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Cassell’s contribution to the campaign came in a track called “Burnin’ Up,” a smoky-smooth disco track.
