The votes have been cast. The list has been tallied. And on Thursday, December 10th, The 2020 Countdown begins.

The last time WXPN asked our listener community what the greatest songs of all time were, it was 2004, the 21st century was young, and artists like Dawes and Courtney Barnett were years away from releasing their first albums. A decade and a half later, with an exponential growth in new music and ways to consume it, how will this list differ?

Tune in beginning on Thursday to find out. Kristen Kurtis begins counting down our listener-voted 2,020 greatest songs of all time beginning at 8 a.m. ET, and the countdown will run 24/7 until we reach number one…however long it takes to get there.

To warm up for the main event, we’re hosting a Countdown Tailgate Party on Wednesday, December 9th via Zoom; you can get more information and RSVP here. And throughout the broadcast, we’ll be keeping you informed with stats, facts, and even more lists contributed by notable Philadelphians and some of our favorite artists.

So buckle in, pop your headphones on, and get ready to enjoy the greatest music of all time in The 2020 Countdown.
