Singer-songwriter Nathalie Cerin, who performs music as Talie, is a contributor to the Kanaval: Haitian Rhythms & the Music of New Orleans project. She’s featured in the documentary, which will be available for streaming and download on Monday, March 15th, and contributes to this web site.
Talie recently released a video for her song “Limyè” which is on her album, Solèy Midi, released in 2019. “Limye’” is kreyol for “light,” and the song – dedicated to the victims of violence in Haiti – is about the inner light we have in each of us, and between each other, where we find hope and optimism and resilience during challenging, often horrible times, to inspire and rise above.
