Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard releases studio cover of Jackie Wilson’s “Higher and Higher”

In honor of Women’s History Month, Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard released a cover of Jackie Wilson’s “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” exclusively for Amazon Music.

Howard has performed the 1967 classic as part of her live sets, including a New Years special with Jools’ Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. Listen to the cover here.

Howard will be performing at next week’s 63rd annual Grammy Awards alongside performances from Brandi Carlile, HAIM, John Mayer, and more. She is also up for five Grammy nominations, including Best Alternative Music Album and Best Rock Song.
