Radiohead is digging into the archives to produce a series of livestream shows this spring. The first installment airs this Friday and showcases an impromptu performance recorded in London on January 16, 2008.

The show was originally supposed to be an in-store performance at London’s Rough Trade East celebrating the release of In Rainbows. Things went awry when “hordes of fans and overwhelming media coverage caught the attention of the local authorities,” according to a press release. “The entire production had to be torn down and a replacement venue found on a moment’s notice.”

The small Shoreditch club 93 Feet East happened to be available that night, resulting in a rare intimate Radiohead performance. Though surely memorable for the few hundred people in attendance, archival footage of the show has remained largely unseen until now.

The stream premieres this Friday, April 9 at 3 p.m. EDT on YouTube. The series will continue for seven weeks.
