Maddie Medley joined us live from her Nashville studio for today’s virtual Free at Noon. The up-and-coming singer-songwriter packs unexpected moments of intensity into her seemingly mellow folk songs, giving us a glimpse at why she’s become known around the Nashville scene for her captivating live performances.

Maddie Medley’s debut EP Coming Of Age, Pt. 1 came out last year, and she just released a new single, “Wild Parts,” which she played live with a full band for the first time today. In addition to the new track, she played several songs off the EP that “come from trying to navigate young adulthood and figure out how to be a woman,” according to the songwriter, who started writing poetry when she was eight.
