Langhorne Slim joined us live from his living room for today’s virtual Free at Noon to share songs from his new album, Strawberry Mansion. Though he’s now located in Nashville, the introspective album finds the singer-songwriter looking back at his Philly roots.

Langhorne Slim started working on Strawberry Mansion early into quarantine last spring, and the songs channel a lot of the anxieties we were all feeling at the time. His moody acoustic performance today balanced both the frustrations of playing to a virtual audience and the unexpected perks of being able to connect with people anytime, anywhere. Through our computer screens, we searched for strength along with Langhorne as he sang about the “new world to behold” on “Mighty Soul,” listened to him find the beauty in little things in “Dreams,” and thought of our own complicated emotions as he stopped and started through a radio-friendly version of “Panic Attack.”

We hope to see Langhorne Slim back in Philly for a live show soon. Until then, watch video of today’s performance above, and check out the virtual Free at Noon archives here.
