Other than the five songs from their debut EP, hearing the Philly-based alt-rockers Zinskē  has mostly depended on going to see them live. For obvious reasons, that wasn’t a possibility in the last year or so, but they’ve nearly perfectly encapsulated the experience of seeing them perform with Live from Home.

The album features live recordings of all of their songs from Screw the Golden Years. The band managed to record each part individually, meaning that part of the EP was recorded in Fishtown and part of it was recorded in Austin. Initially the band had uploaded the socially distant recordings on Instagram TV, but ultimately decided to release them on a variety of streaming platforms.

Those who connected with the album the first go-around will still enjoy the shoegaze and punk sounds that have carried over, but they’ll also find a new edge and maturity present in this live rendition of the songs. Chris Lipczynski, the lead vocalist of the band, gave some more insight into why Live from Home is being put out in a release:

This is our way of giving listeners a more realistic representation of how we’ve grown as a band since 2018. And honestly, these tracks ended up sounding better than our initial recording! Definitely deserves a better home than… Instagram TV.
