My Morning Jacket and Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard will play The Mann in September
Perennial rockers My Morning Jacket announced an expansive fall tour today that brings them through Philadelphia for a gig on Wednesday, September 8th at The Mann Center for the Performing Arts, with Alabama Shakes’ lead singer and songwriter Brittany Howard sharing the stage with them.
Tickets go on sale Friday, May 21st at 10 a.m., and more information can be found here. According to the tour announcement, $1 from every ticket sold will “go to support non-profits working for environmental justice, racial equity, and securing access to mental health care for all.”
Concert announcements at this point are subject to change due to the unpredictability of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The Mann Center’s website has an extensive COVID-19 section detailing health and safety regulations, information around rescheduled shows, and more.
“The Mann Center for the Performing Arts has taken enhanced measures to protect the health and safety of our guests,” the website reads. “There remains, however, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any place where people gather. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By entering our venue, you voluntarily assume all risks, hazards, and dangers arising from or relating in any way to the risk of exposure to COVID-19.”
Last summer, My Morning Jacket released its latest album, The Waterfall II, and this year announced vinyl reissues of 2003’s It Still Moves, and 2008’s Evil Urges; Howard’s debut studio album, Jaime, was released to critical acclaim in September of 2019.
