Dave Hause captures a nostalgia of summer love on his latest release, “Sandy Sheets.” Equally enamored by someone he’s singing about and the Jersey Shore itself, the song will make you melt like the $1 ice cream he references. The single was accompanied by the announcement of Hause’s fifth album Blood Harmony, which will be out October 22, 2021. To celebrate, Hause will be going on tour and making a stop in Philadelphia to play at TD Pavilion at the Mann on September 21, opening for The Avett Brothers.

Catchy and carefree, with wistful lyrics like “let me remember you when it was easy,” the new single is a perfect summer anthem. Hiding out at the beach, going wild in the heat, and “listening to ‘Hey Jealously’ on repeat,” it paints a lyrical picture of a love story straight from a movie, the sort of quintessential coming-of-age experience that’s pure magic. Tying it together with a playful beat and sunny riffs, you can practically smell the sunscreen and feel the sand beneath your feet. While summer can’t last forever, Hause preserves it perfectly with his upbeat Americana.

Hause’s upcoming album, Blood Harmony, will feature the same level of sentimental touches and attention to detail. A balancing act, Hause wrote it as an attempt to figure out his role as a musician, brother, husband, son, and dad. Created with his younger brother and long-time writing partner, Tim Hause, the brothers are releasing it on their own label, Blood Harmony. Hause also enlisted the help of a few star-studded collaborators including, members of The E Street Band, The Highwomen, Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Crow, Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, and more.
