Hard to believe we’ve arrived at the end of another month, but this week’s crop of new albums is looking forward, not back. The amorphous collective Big Red Machine, organized by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner, release their second full-length, How Long Do You Think it’s Gonna Last?, featuring vocal contributions from Taylor Swift, Anaïs Mitchell, Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, and more. Madi Diaz, originally from Lancaster County, makes her ANTI- Records debut with the sharp and heartfelt History of a Feeling. Scottish electropop favorites CHVRCHES return with Screen Violence, which features a glittering collab with The Cure’s Robert Smith. Guitarist Steve Gunn shows off his technical chops as well as his songwriting finesse on his latest solo release, Other You.

Teaming up with Nine Inch Nails members Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Halsey‘s If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power is their boldest release yet. Memory Device is the debut by Baba Ali; a captivating introduction to this pop experimentalist. North Carolina singer-songwriter Indigo De Souza‘s Any Shape You Take is a heart-wrenching and often darkly humorous set of intimate compositions. After a four-year break, Ramona Gonzalez returns to her Nite Jewel project with the sparse and sleek No Sun. PRESS PLAY on these new releases (and more) below…
