If you’ve never been on the beach in the winter, it is secluded and serene and quite contemplative; the ideal vibes to experience Lansdowne son Kurt Vile, who will headline new Atlantic City venue Anchor Rock Club on January 15th of 2022. On social media, Kurt says the gig is his “first full band show in forever” with his longtime band The Violators.

Vile is at an exciting juncture of his career: after over a decade and five solo albums on revered indie Matador Records (plus one collaborative LP with Courtney Barnett), he signed to legacy label Verve Records, home to one of his favorite artists of all time, The Velvet Underground.

Though a new LP is on the docket for next year, KV’s first official act on the Verve roster was a cover of “Run Run Run” for the anniversary tribute compilation celebrating The Velvet Underground and Nico; listen to that below, and get tickets to his Anchor Rock Club show when they go on sale Friday, November 5th at 10 a.m. More information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
