Number One Lovers forge an unholy alliance in the “Livin'” video

Philly indie rockers The Vernes packed the house at Johnny Brenda’s a couple weekends ago, but most of their primary players are also making moves on their other project, the wistful psychedelic pop outfit Number One Lovers.

Cole Berggren, Matthew Gragg, Fabián Mera are joined by Jess Fox in this new-ish band, and they each take turns playing Satan in this darkly comical new music video for “Livin’,” which was released earlier this week.

Directed by Mera, the video finds the bandmates on a forest expedition where they unwittingly strike a bargain with the dark lord, who prances onto the scene decked out in bright red spandex and face paint. He exits on a motorcycle, guitar in hand, while most of Number One Loves…can never leave? Possibly for all eternity?
