Riverby has a new tune out today, a cover of Bright Eyes’ “You Will. You? Will. You? Will.” for A Monument To Commemorate Our Time, Take This To Heart Record’s tribute of their 2002 record LIFTED or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground.
For the 20th anniversary of the pivotal record, Take This To Heart put together a tribute featuring all artists from their label, with Philly’s Riverby holding it down in the fourth position. Songwriter August Greenberg fills out the tune in a new way; instead of the song sounding like it was recorded in a small, echoey room, the acoustics are boundless in Riverby’s version. Mixed by The Lunar Year’s Katie Hackett, Riverby’s cover of “You Will.” utilizes electronic effects galore, and is giving us major Lizdelise vibes.
