As the calendar turns to February, greet the new month with new music! This week’s Free at Noon guest, Sunny War, presents Anarchist Gospel; containing songs of rebellion and resilience (and a surprising Ween cover), it’s the Nashville artist’s boldest set to date. Speaking of Free at Noon, preview next week’s concert with The Day My Father Died, the guest-packed solo album from Seattle’s Brian Fennell as SYML. Adventurous Scottish trio Young Fathers unleash their fourth album, Heavy Heavy, whose beats and themes live up to its name.

For her fifth solo album, Higher Than Heaven, Ellie Goulding offers disco-ready escapism. The Go! Team‘s energetic seventh LP, Get Up Sequences Part Two, offers a companion to the British squad’s summer 2021 comeback. Grandfather Courage is Fantastic Negrito‘s acoustic re-work of last year’s White Jesus Black Problems; the stark arrangements give the songs new weight and fresh spirit.
