As the Philadelphia Eagles head to Glendale, Arizona this Sunday for the Super Bowl, the city is virtually united behind them. And musicians are no exception. If you’re in need of a get-hype soundtrack ahead of the big game, we’ve got a collection of 10 songs below, new cuts and classics alike. Go birds!

Arthur Thomas and The Funkitorium – “We Gon’ Fly”

Start things off with a new rally anthem from Philly party rockers Arthur Thomas and the Funkitorum. It kicks off with a slow-build, dramatic take on the E-A-G-L-E-S chant and builds from there.

Baldini and the Bastards – “Philly Special”

These gritty Americana jam rockers channels outlaw country and G. Love’s Philadelphonic funk/punk in an ode to the Birds’ 2018 win.

Mount Airy Violins & Bows – “Fly Eagles Fly”

These instrument specialists on Germantown Avenue excel at catchy web content to show that violins, violas, cellos and the like aren’t just for fancy theaters and formal occasions. (They performed the Rocky theme in the aftermath of the Birds’ 2018 Super Bowl Victory, for example.) Here they deliver a chamber string rendition of the Eagles fight song that is both elegant and extremely fun.

Meek Mill – “Dreams and Nightmares (Intro)”

There’s been a lot of talk about the unofficial Eagles anthem of this year. Does it remain the tear-the-roof-off, impossibly motivational title track from Philly rapper Meek Mill’s debut album? One that the entire team’s fan base can rap along to word-for-word? It remains part of the fabric — although, white fans, please be conscious of which words you should and should not rap along with…

Lil Uzi Vert – “Just Wanna Rock”

…or is it “Just Wanna Rock,” the 2022 single by Philly hip-hop rockstar Lil Uzi Vert? As the Philly Voice reports, the famed DJ Drama (among others) has asserted that the song has unseated Meek’s as the rap anthem of the Eagles season. Uzi, for their part, is humble about it, saying: “I don’t think so. That song like been around for a very long time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way.” Another perspective comes from veteran Philly rapper Reef The Lost Cauze, who has weighed in on the conversation on his socials saying simply “the youth have spoken” — and this year’s anthem is Uzi’s.

Reef the Lost Cauze – “The Way”

Speaking of Reef, he contributed to Chill Moody’s excellent Eagles Gameday Poster Playlist project this year — a collection of songs debuted exclusively on the Eagles app and blasted at The Linc at home games — with a new pro-Philly jam called “The Way.” With producer Emynd flipping a snippet of dramatic NFL interstitial score into a hype beat, Reef references The Mandalorian and bars down about how this is the greatest city on planet Earth.

Justmadnice – “Shadow”

Not specifically Birds-related, but another excellent jam from the Eagles Gameday Poster Playlist project, rising Philly star Justmadnice’s fervent indie rocker “Shadow” recalls Fiona Apple and Nina Simone, and the IG vids of them dancing with their mom at The Linc on New Years’ Day are just heartwarming as hell.

The 1988 Philadelphia Eagles – “Buddy’s Watching You”

Here’s a blast from the distant past — following in the footsteps of the Chicago Bears and their “Super Bowl Shuffle,” the 1988 Philadelphia Eagles roster recorded this very of-its-era clubby rap song paying homage to their coach at the time, the late Buddy Ryan. QB Randall Cunningham’s bars might even still be stuck in your brain from school bus rides and game watch parties. The Birds made it to the postseason that year but sadly did not go all the way, losing to the Bears in the NFC Divisionals.

The Last Barbarians – “Bleed Green”

Another blast from the past, this one comes from the post-millennial suburban Philly riff rippers The Last Barbarians, who were also known for rocking jams about gnomes and mosquitos and not taking themselves overly seriously. Shoutouts to XPN2 DJ alum Jake Rabid for putting this in the playlist pipeline during the Birds’ 2010 season.

Jae Focus ft. The Philly Sports Guy – “PHILLY PHILLY PHILLY”

Wrapping things up as fireworks pop behind the Art Museum sky — not making predictions, just setting a scene — Wilmington rapper Jae Focus pays homage to all things great about his neighbors a short drive up I-95 in the newly released, doused-in-green rocker “PHILLY PHILLY PHILLY.” The sentiment is clear, and you don’t need us to say it, but we will: GO BIRDS.
