Bruce Springsteen hasn’t even played his March show in Philly yet, and already we’ve got two more on the calendar.
The Wells Fargo Center gig on March 16th is a (relatively) intimate warm-up for two stadium concerts this summer at Citizens Bank Park. Springsteen will play the Phillies’ home field on August 16th and August 18th. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, February 28 at 10 a.m.
The new dates are part of an extension of tour in support of Springsteen’s album of soul covers, Only The Strong Survive, which he discussed with Raina Douris on World Cafe late last year. It’s a celebration of the breadth of his catalog as well, if setlists from the road so far are any indication, and beyond the two nights at Citizens Bank Park, it extends into December.
Though much of the tour is being ticketed via Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan system, the Philly date appears to be on sale directly through Citizens Bank Park, though the stadium’s website right now is short on information and actual ticketing links. We’ll update this space as we hear more.
