One of the most unexpected and welcome musical events of the year is the return of Everything But The Girl, the singer-songwriter duo of Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, whose career traversed jazzy folk to banging electronic pop in the 80s and 90s. Last month, they released “Nothing Left To Lose,” their first single in 24 years, with news of Fuse, their first album since 1999’s Temperamental.
Today, we’re excited to share single number two: “Caution To The Wind,” a burning slow build into a soaring anthem, which you can listen to below. In a press release, Thorne describes it as “a simple song about arrival and seizing the moment, so with the music we tried to capture the feeling of a perpetual point in time.” Watt elaborates by calling it “classic nightclub tension and euphoria.”
