Singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis is returning to Philly for summer 2023. The XPN fave headlined Sunday night of last September’s XPoNential Music Festival, and this summer is going on a theater tour that brings her to The Met Philly on Thursday, July 20th. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 10th at 10 a.m., and more information can be found at WXPN’s Concerts and Events page.
With the announcement, Lewis released a new music video for “Puppy and a Truck,” a one-off single released ahead of Lewis’ 2021 tour with Harry Styles. The playful video features on-the-fly footage of Lewis’ tour van with her doggo joning the band on the road, as well as fantastically staged scenes on beaches and in venue parking lots with a person dressed as a dog, and some live footage too. In a press release, Lewis says “To be on a giant stage in front of thousands of people after such a long period of isolation, those 45 minutes meeting Harry’s fans brought me back to life. I was just trying to stay present and in the moment, and grateful to be able to share my life experiences and my songs, with such a loving audience.”
