Singer-songwriter Margo Price brought her Till The Wheels Fall off tour to Philadelphia last week for a fantastic Friday night at South Street’s Theater of Living Arts.

Bathed in purple, blue, and pink lights, Price and her five-piece band worked through a lively 17-song setlist drawing strongly on her current album Strays as well as 2021’s That’s How Rumors Get Started. There were surprises in the mix as well, like Price getting behind the drumkit for a cover of Elvis Costello’s “Pump It Up,” dancing out to the venue floor for a singalong of Janis Joplin’s “Mercedes Benz,” and bringing out a special guest star — hometown hero Kurt Vile — to accompany her on John Prine’s “That’s The Way The World Goes ‘Round.”

After the show, Price shared an intimate video of her and Vile warming up the cover song backstage.

Margo Price’s tour continues tonight at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium, then she has some time off before a March 22nd appearance at Boise’s Treefort Festival, then picking up in April and beyond with dates supporting Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers and Willie Nelson. She’ll be back in Philly on August 10th playing with Childers at The Met; full tour dates can be found here.
