Nick Hakim flows seamlessly through R&B, soul and psychedelia on ‘COMETA’

Nick Hakim took a “nomadic” approach when making his latest album, COMETA. Working alongside acclaimed producer Andrew Sarlo, the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter recorded the album in Texas, California and New York. The album wanders sonically too, flowing through R&B, soul, indie rock and psychedelia.

His new record is a collection of songs that explore love in all its varied manifestations, from the mutual love of his community to self-love. In this session, Hakim stopped by World Cafe in Philadelphia for a mini-concert featuring live performances of songs from COMETA.
