Singer-songwriter veteran (and XPoNential Music Festival 2022 performer) Lucinda Williams will return with a new album for 2023, and she’s got some pretty cool friends helping her out.
Announced this week, Stories From A Rock n Roll Heart is due out this summer, and the lead single “New York Comeback” is a rousing duet with the one and only Bruce Springsteen, along with his E Street Bandmate (and spouse) Patti Scialfa. The two also join Williams on the song “Rock n Roll Heart,” and other cuts on the record feature contributions by Angel Olsen, Margo Price, and Tommy Stinson of the Replacements.
Stories From A Rock n Roll Heart is out June 30th via Thirty Tigers, and can be pre-ordered here. Williams plays a run of New York City dates in April, followed by a North American tour beginning in May; there are no Philadelphia gigs at the moment, but you can check out her tour dates here and look for her memoir Don’t Tell Anybody The Secrets I Told You to release on April 25th. Springsteen just played Wells Fargo Center — check out our review here — and returns to Philly this summer to headline Citizens Bank Park on the 16th and 18th of August. Tickets and more information can be found at WXPN’s Concerts and Events page.
