Janelle Monáe embarks on their The Age of Pleasure tour this August: with lipstick lovers across the U.S and Canada excitedly waiting for their chance to see the electric lady perform. Their North American romp kicks off in Seattle, Washington on August 30th, with other stops in Nashville, Atlanta, Monáe’s hometown of Kansas City, and Philly’s own The Met, before wrapping up in Inglewood, California on October 18th.
The Age of Pleasure, set to release on June 9th, marks Monáe’s first major release since 2018’s Dirty Computer. Upon its release, Dirty Computer was universally praised, earning the artist two Grammy nominations, one of which for the coveted Album of the Year award. Since then, their soulful blend of R&B, pop, and hip-hop has catapulted the multi talented singer-songwriter into mainstream stardom. In promoting their forthcoming LP, Monáe dropped “Float” this past February, a horn-driven party anthem featuring Seun Kuti and Egypt 80. Likewise, on May 11th Monáe blessed fans with “Lipstick Lover”, a groovy love song that teases the stylistic direction for the remainder of the record.
