Bruce Springsteen has long since the unofficial poet laureate of the state of New Jersey, with his ambitious rock arrangements and richly detailed characters. In his early days, Springsteen completed an apprenticeship in mid-Atlantic coastal bar bands before signing his first record deal with Columbia Records in 1972. That same year The E Street Band formed, soon becoming Springsteen’s most notable backing band, and would go on to pursue their own solo efforts while still backing Springsteen. To this day Springsteen & the E Street Band continue to tour to sold out crowds throughout the world. Springsteen’s early experience can be credited for creating the backbone for his long, and ongoing, storied career.
