Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the constitutional protection of the right to abortion, over a year ago, communities have looked locally or to their neighbor states for support. Localized activism, like the work by NOISE FOR NOW, a reproductive rights fundraising initiative, make a great difference in the lives of individuals who were let down by the federal government. In January, Ground Control Touring and NOISE FOR NOW will host a benefit show in Philly, as well as in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Nashville, with all proceeds going to reproductive health care services.
Here in Philly, we’re lucky to have an incredible bill of Florry, Frances Quinlan, Gladie, Poison Ruïn, and Radiator Hospital performing for the cause at arguably the city’s best independent venue, Johnny Brenda’s. These artists join the impressive list of over 450 entertainers who have participated in a NOISE FOR NOW music benefit show, raising over $1.25 million for local independent abortion clinics and abortion funds in the nonprofit’s 5-year history.
Tickets for the 2nd Annual Abortion Access Benefit Series go on sale this Friday, December 1st at this link.
