After coming to prominence in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the high-octane Philly brass septet SNACKTIME are prepared to make moves nationally.
The band, which made its recorded debut on the 2022 live album SOUNDS FROM THE STREET, just announced its first studio single “TOGETHER,” backed by “I DON’T GIVE A DAMN” (these guys love their caps lock). Both songs were recorded by producer Will Yip at Conshohocken’s Studio 4, and might sound familiar to WXPN listeners — the B-side was first performed in SNACKTIME’s Key Studio Session in fall of 2022, while the A-side was debuted as the set-closer during their spirited Home For The Holidays performance in 2023.
The band has a big national tour ahead of them this winter and spring. They’ll be the support act for modern rockers Portugal. The Man in a tour that kicks off tomorrow night in Del Mar, California, and will perform as part of PTM during the band’s headlining set. There are no Philly dates on this tour, but they’ll be in the area on February 23rd when they play The Stone Pony in Asbury Park. Check out the full dates below, and listen to the band’s new single.
