Like a field of four-leaf clovers, these newly released albums are all quite charming. Kacey Musgraves’s Deeper Well finds the singer-songwriter looking inward for a tender and winsome sixth album. For Happiness Bastards, their first new LP in 15 years, The Black Crowes reunite for a rousing set of trademark Southern rock ‘n blues. Philly favorite Tierra Whack manifests a multi-faceted character on World Wide Whack, continuing the reality-blurring themes of her 2021 film Cypher.

Fusing the indie rock rush of Wolf Parade with the electro pulse of Operators, Dan Boeckner is joined by Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain and producer Randall Dunn on his “solo” debut as Boeckner. D.C. avant-jazz combo The Messthetics (a trio featuring Fugazi’s rhythm section) team up with saxophonist James Brandon Lewis for a rousing collaboration that’s not without its moments of discord.
