serpentwithfeet has emerged as a genre-bending must-see artist immersed in gospel, opera, and everything in between. His music pushes the limits of R&B, expanding and experimenting with the genre and featuring some of its biggest names. His latest album, GRIP, released last month, featured Ty Dolla Sign, Mick Jenkins, and on the song on “Ellipsis,” Philly artist Orion Sun. Other artists are listening too: Bjork and Daniel Caesar tapped the singer to contribute to their recent albums. He’s just announced the Grip Tour, which includes a stop at Philadelphia’s Foundry venue on May 21st.
Serpentwithfeet was born in Baltimore and now resides in Los Angeles but still holds Philly close to home. He attended the University of the Arts and performed a World Cafe session (you can watch that here).
