Billie Eilish’s third album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, will be released May 17th through Darkroom/Interscope Records. The title track was written by Eilish and her brother FINNEAS, who also produced the album.

Eilish announced the album drop in an Instagram post on April 8th. “ ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’ MY THIRD ALBUMMMMMMMMMM COMES OUT MAY 17THHHHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHHHHH,” she wrote below an image of the album cover. “Not doing singles i wanna give it to you all at once :PPPP finneas and i truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it.”

The album is promised to deliver “a diverse yet cohesive collection of songs, ideally listened to in its entirety from beginning to end,” according to a recent press release. “The album does exactly as the title suggests: hits you hard and soft both lyrically and sonically while bending genres and defying trends along the way.”

Eilish has repeatedly spoken about her concerns for the climate. Last week, she criticized major artists for their excessive packaging and re-releases. Eilish’s upcoming album’s physical copies, also available May 17th, will reflect her views, with limited variants made with 100% recyclable materials.
