The Philadelphia region is about to welcome back one of its own as hometown musical legend John Oates prepares to take center stage at the historic Philadelphia Folk Festival. Nestled just miles away from the site of the abandoned luncheonette (famed cover art and title of Hall & Oates second studio album) Oates returns to the area to headline the Martin Stage at the Philly Folk Fest on Saturday, August 17 at 7:30 PM, bringing his signature blend of smooth vocals, soulful melodies, and emotive songs to hometown fans.

Accompanied by his band, Oates is bringing a selection of tunes spanning his illustrious career, including tracks from his latest recording project, “Reunion.”

But Oates is just one shining star in a constellation of musical talent gracing this year’s festival lineup. Joining him are acclaimed local, regional, and international acts such as Gangstagrass, Aaron Nathans & Michael G. Ronstadt, Craig Bickhardt, Ellis Paul, John Flynn, RUNA, Shanna in a Dress, and many more.

Daytime festivities will offer workshops and activities, including a guitar education workshop presented by Martin Guitar. Meanwhile, food and craft vendors will round out the vibrant atmosphere of community and celebration.

For campers, fest kicks off early on Thursday, August 15th, with exclusive performances by Shanna in a Dress, Miss Emily, and the Adam Ezra Group. Early bird tickets are now on sale. For those looking to immerse themselves in the full festival experience, general admission, VIP, camping, and volunteer tickets are available for purchase at folkfest.org.
