“Feel” is the latest sun-drenched, addictive track from retro rock band The Heavy Heavy. Full of addictive riffs, funky bass, and power-infused drums, it explores themes of identity and personal aspiration. Written by co-founders Georgie Fuller and William Turner, it’s the third single off their upcoming album, One of a Kind, which is set to release on September 6 via ATO Records.

“This track is all about how we want to live life,’” shared the UK-based band in a press release. “We found ourselves dabbling sonically in the world of 1990s Brit rock, which is one of our favorite eras of music, and we took a lot of inspiration from Oasis and The Stone Roses for this one. Lyrically, we were inspired by Beck, in particular the playful, primal lyrics of ‘Loser.’”

While the inspirations shine through, there’s a touch of even earlier rock (think 60s or even 70s) in the track, which at this point, I’ve just come to associate with the timeless quality of The Heavy Heavy.

Following the release of their album, The Heavy Heavy will be embarking on a fall headline tour, see the full list of dates here. One of their first stops will be at the XPoNential Music Festival on September 22. See you there!
