As the end of summer draws near, keep the dream alive with this week’s batch of new albums. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds present an eruption of joyous faith and fury in the form of their 18th studio album, Wild God. Philly-rooted songwriter Mondo Cozmo continues his chameleon-like journey through the realms of rock and soul on It’s PRINCIPLE!. Rising UK singer Paris Paloma makes good on the promise of her breakthrough hit “labour” with Cacaphony, her anthem-packed debut. Minneapolis brother-fronted combo The Cactus Blossoms rock a little harder (and croon a little sweeter) on their fifth LP, Every Time I Think About You.

With Philly production legend Will Yip at the helm, Oceanator’s Everything is Love and Death is the defiant and triumphant third album from New York songwriter Elise Okusami. Though he’s kept plenty busy with The Baseball Project and the reunited Dream Syndicate, Make it Right is the first new solo album from LA lifer Steve Wynn in over 15 years. Trailblazing performance artist Laurie Anderson also offers her first solo album in nearly a decade and a half; Amelia is an imaginative account of the pioneering aviator’s final flight. Based in London with members hailing from Australia, Uruguay, and Sweden, instrumental quartet Los Bitchos throw a party to which the whole globe is invited on Talkie Talkie.

Listen for spotlights on new records like these (and more) every week on the XPN Morning Show and Indie Rock Hit Parade.
