This week’s batch of newly released albums is like a seven-leaf clover at the end of a double rainbow. Nilüfer Yanya conjures a dreamlike world on My Method Actor; the London singer reunited with producer Wilma Archer for their third full-length collaboration. On Moon Mirror, their 10th studio album, Nada Surf offer a refreshed take on their trademark anthemic indie rock. Self-described “Model, Actress, Whatever” Suki Waterhouse packs fizzy energy and lyrical reflection on her sprawling second album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin. Inspired by Japanese City Pop and Philly Soul, SHINBANGUMI is Cameron Lew’s confident and irresistible fourth album as Ginger Root.

Snow Patrol’s eighth album, The Forest is the Path, is the venerable group’s first as a trio after the departure of their longtime rhythm section. Teaming up once again with masked guitar heroes Los Straitjackets for his first album in over a decade, Nick Lowe is reeling and rocking on Indoor Safari. The members of Lunar Vacation shared close quarters during the writing and recording of Everything Matters, Everything’s Fire; the Atlanta group’s second album plays like a song circle among lifelong friends. A document of nearly two years on the road, The War on DrugsLive Drugs Again is a postcard from the Philadelphia band’s never-ending world tour.

Listen for spotlights on new records like these (and more) every week on the XPN Morning Show and Indie Rock Hit Parade.
