Listen to HINDS play a revved-up Free at Noon concert
The Madrid band rocked the midday crowd at World Cafe Live in October.
One of the highest-energy releases of the year is Viva Hinds, the fourth LP by Madrid rock duo Hinds. Led by singer-guitarists Carlotta Cosials and Ana García Perrote, the album fuses raw punk energy with delightful indie pop hooks and races at a brisk three-minutes-a-song pace. A month and a half after the album’s release, the band’s North American tour brought them to Philadelphia for a headlining gig at the First Unitarian Church (see a review of that show here).
Earlier that day, Hinds made a stop at 3025 Walnut to play the World Cafe Live stage for a revved-up Free at Noon concert. With bassist Paula Ruiz and drummer Maria Lázaro filling out the lineup, Hinds packed a punch, but joked that the midday crowd was getting the chilled-out version of their show (which no doubt prompted more than a few people to head to The Church that night). If you missed it, listen back to Hinds’ Free At Noon concert in the player above, and see photos from the show below. They wrap their 2024 tour schedule this Saturday at Festival para Gente Sentada in Braga, Portugal, and then they head on a Europe and UK run beginning January 16th; dates here.
